Corazon “Cory” Aquino

Corazon ” Cory” Cojuangco Aquino
January 25, 1933 - August 1, 2009
A plain house-wife and a wonderful mother, widowed when her husband, Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, was murdered. She then unexpectedly became the courage and hope of a reviving nationalism.
Cory became the heart of Democracy, the first woman president of the Republic of the Philippines, and the first female president of any country in Asia. She served the country from 1986 to 1992.
She died dearly loved. Left a nation weeping for a great loss.
