Governor Lray Villafuerte ’s realization of a dream for his people, and his land, is truly amazing. CamSur the extreme sports capital of the country has gained popularity. And many famous wakeboarders from Europe, North America, and other parts of the world became frequent visitors of CWC (CamSur Water Sports Complex). But the dream didn’t just stopped there. There’s more in CamSur worth visiting; the warm and friendly locals, the festivals, and the beautiful islands and beaches.

Caramoan ’s one of the many reasons why one should choose CamSur as a vacation destination. And so an exhibit was opened to present and boost the beautiful island of Caramoan. It featured well-known photographers Jun DeLEON, SaraBLACK, PaoloPINEDA, JakeVERZOSA, Jo AnnBITAGCOL, and MarkNICDAO. CaramoanX6 Exhibit launched last Friday at Greenbelt 5. Cocktails were served and an auction of some of the pieces. Profits of the exhibit will go to the CamSur (Camarines Sur) education fund.

Corazon ” Cory” Cojuangco Aquino
January 25, 1933 - August 1, 2009

A plain house-wife and a wonderful mother, widowed when her husband, Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, was murdered. She then unexpectedly became the courage and hope of a reviving nationalism.

Cory became the heart of Democracy, the first woman president of the Republic of the Philippines, and the first female president of any country in Asia. She served the country from 1986 to 1992.

She died dearly loved. Left a nation weeping for a great loss.

Pacquiao Fight!

December 7

A pride for all Filipinos. Though I love Kickboxing, I am not a fan of Boxing or of Pacquiao. But every time he fights we never failed to watch him live (I mean live on cable TV ;). Filipinos go gaga and stop whatever they’re doing to watch Manny beat his opponents. No busy streets and people stayed inside their homes infront of the tubes cheering for Pacman.

De La Hoya - Pacquiao Fight

Manny Pacquiao is truly a character, in the boxing arena, worth admiring. He was tagged as the Mexican Executioner after defeating popular Mexican names in boxing.

I was doubtful on Manny in the Oscar de la Hoya fight. He seem so small compared to the Golden Boy. It was very surprising that he easily won over Oscar. All punches were clean and strong that landed on de la Hoya’s face. I wondered why de la Hoya couldn’t get in and give Pacquiao a beating. It was a shame to have lose his battle on Pacquiao, but they say it’s worth it. Manny Pacquiao is a name of a conquering boxer.

He’s always great in the ring. He is a hero and an icon to his people. A loving family man to his wife and children. But I think it’s not enough to put him into the political arena. I felt a sickened disgust when I heard the mc introduced him as a man vying for presidency in his country. Let all people in the world know how rotten Philippine politics is, that anybody and everyone with money can have their way to a seat in government offices. I just hope Manny wouldn’t let anyone use his popularity for political gain. The Filipino people already proved their awareness and concern last elections. Manny failed to pleased the people with his political platforms. I am not presumptuous and skeptical to what he can for the people, but I think it’s a long way for Manny Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao give a good fight on the boxing world! Filipinos are so proud of you.

Matt Harding

We’ve just met Matt Mullenweg yesterday. And today my husband introduced me to another Matt. Not personally though, he sort of introduced Matt Harding’s videos to me. I was awed and I totally envy this man.

Where the hell is Matt?

I’ve always wanted to travel around the world. And Matt Harding’s so favored by having a job that would let him go to different places. He’s just an ordinary Joe who loves to travel and used up all the money he had saved for his trips. Until it ran out. But the videos of his silly dance became popular online. And someone contacted him to do a sponsored video for them. So he got funded to make a new video of his bad dancing on  different countries in all seven continents. I’m not sure how many videos he made, but found quite a number of his funny dancing videos.

Matt Harding proved that it’s really a small world after all. ;)

WordCamp Philippines 2008 was a success. It was great meeting other developers, and learning a thing or two from them. The camp was not solely for programmers and developers but there were the bloggers as well, ofcourse. I’ve learn some bits and pieces from some programmers I happened to sat beside with in the sessions, who shared their expertise and how-do-they-do-it stuff and all. The talks were enriching, especially Hans Koch’s on SEO.

And to top it all, it was amazing to meet Matt Mullenweg in person, and hear him talk. To those who didn’t know, Matt’s the founding developer of Wordpress.

The whole activity was well planned and organized by the Mindanao Bloggers. And there were cool prizes and give-aways for everyone, too. Mig tossed me a cool foldable USB keyboard from one of the many sponsors, Smart Bro.
